PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla., July 7 (UPI) -- A Florida woman is facing charges after allegedly whacking her husband, who she said is a philanderer, on the head with a bag of ice cream, authorities say.

An affidavit stated Dawn Elaine Barran, 45, happened upon her husband with his "current girlfriend" July 1 in a Walgreens in Port St. Lucie, TCPalm.com reported.

Barran allegedly got into an argument with her husband and then swung the bag of ice cream, connecting squarely with his head. The confrontation continued outside the drugstore, with Barran allegedly chasing her husband, pulling at his shirt and punching him, the affidavit stated.

TCPalm.com said Port St. Lucie police arrested the wife and charged her with misdemeanor battery.
