PARIS, July 6 (UPI) -- San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker, who suffered an eye injury is June, is cleared to play for France in the London Olympics, officials in Paris said Friday.

The Games begin July 27.

Parker was given the go-ahead to play by the Spurs medical staff, a report from the French Basketball Federation said.

Parker, who led the Spurs with an 18.3-points-per game average this season, was injured by flying glass during a fight involving entertainers at a New York city nightclub.

The player later sued the club, alleging it was negligent in its security.
