Rapper T-shirt gives away robbery suspect

DUSSELDORF, Germany, June 29 (UPI) -- A rapper T-shirt, one of only three of its kind sold in a German city, gave away a suspect who covered his face with it in a shooting and robbery, police said.

Die Welt newspaper reported detectives found video footage of two suspects in an April shooting and robbery in Dusseldorf, in which one of two victims was shot and severely wounded, TheLocal.de said.

One of the suspects in the April robbery and shooting had been wearing a T-shirt bearing the name of gangster-rapper Xatar, who is in prison for robbery.

The T-shirt was found in a bin, and police learned only three of its kind had ever been sold in Dusseldorf. Two of those who owed the T-shirts were ruled out as suspects.

Police say the 25-year-old suspect who covered his face with the T-shirt, identified only as Marcel S. of Germany, confessed and named his accomplice.

Police were searching for the accomplice and have offered a reward of about $1,900 for information leading to his arrest.
