TOKYO, June 19 (UPI) -- A Japanese cosmetics company is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its luxury line with the creation of a $13,000 face cream.
Le Creme, which sells for $13,000 for one 1.7-ounce jar -- making it more expensive than gold -- was created by Shiseido Co. to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its Cle de Peau Beaute line of luxury products, the New York Daily News reported Tuesday.
Only three jars of the crystal-encrusted cream will be sold Sept. 21, the company said.
"We do not usually make limited editions of our products, but this is to mark a special occasion for the Cle de Peau Beaute line," Megumi Kinukawa, a spokesperson for the line, told Britain's The Daily Telegraph. "We hope it will appeal to our loyal customers and people who are interested in gorgeous brands."
