Stolen little piggy found, returned home
DADE CITY, Fla., June 16 (UPI) -- A Dade City, Fla., man, accused of stealing a 6-month-old pig and apparently selling it for $40, has been arrested, law enforcement officials said.
Pasco County sheriff's deputies said Earl Anthony Florer, 38, saw the pig when he was collecting scrap metal June 8 at a home, asked if he could take it, and was refused by the homeowner, who said she thought the animal belonged to a neighbor, the Tampa Bay Times reported Saturday.
The homeowner, Shannon Shafer, said she locked the pig in a bedroom when she went to bed, but discovered that the little porker was missing when she awoke the next morning, police said.
A neighbor, Anne Hammond, told deputies the pig, named Piggy, was her pet and had escaped from his cage.
Deputies later arrested Florer, who reportedly sold it, the Times said.
Piggy was recovered and returned to its owner.

Pa. man charged with importing wallaby
HARRISBURG, Pa., June 17 (UPI) -- A young Pennsylvania man is facing charges he illegally imported and possessed a wallaby found on the loose in Cambridge Springs, authorities said.
The Pennsylvania Game Commission said Friday Corry A. Lewis, 22, of North East was charged with one count of unlawful importation of wildlife and one count of unlawful possession of wildlife, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported. Lewis could be fined up to $200 on each count.
A commission spokesman said officers were led to Lewis by several tipsters after residents of Cambridge Springs reported seeing the wallaby May 30. It wasn't clear how he allegedly obtained the kangaroo-like marsupial that is native to Australia, or whether he released it or it escaped, the newspaper said.
The wallaby was taken to a licensed wildlife preserve.
