ATLANTA, June 12 (UPI) -- Former Atlanta Braves players attending the annual alumni reunion said an imposter who attended the event "did not look like he ever played the game."

The former players said the man apparently received an invitation meant for former Braves bullpen coach John Sullivan, who was with the team in 1980 and 1981, and claimed to have played for the Braves in "1986 or 1987," The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Tuesday.

Craig Skok, a reliever for the Braves from 1978-1979, said the middle-aged imposter "definitely did not look like he ever played the game."

"He was very much out of shape," Skok said.

The former players said "Sullivan" admitted to being an imposter when they confronted him and he was gone the following day.

Atlanta police said the Braves organization, which declined to comment on the incident, has not contacted them about bringing charges against the man.

"He kept us laughing the whole time," Skok said. "You've got to hand it to him. He almost pulled it off."

The real John Sullivan, 71, said he was amused to hear about the imposter.

"That's pretty funny," Sullivan said. "My wife will get a kick out of that."

Bear knocks over peeing Swede on camera

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, June 12 (UPI) -- A 61-year-old Swedish man who was relieving himself in the woods was caught on tape being knocked over by a bear chasing an elk.

Ola Akesson said he left his summer cabin in the Angraan nature reserve to urinate in a stream Sunday night when he spotted a baby elk on the opposite side of the water, The Local.se reported Tuesday.

"I called to my wife to get out the iPad to film the elk, when all of a sudden she screamed that there was a bear behind me," Akesson said. "I turned around and there was a huge bear right beside me -- maybe half a meter away, I could have reached out and touched it -- but I didn't even have time to think."

Akesson was knocked to the ground and the bear, which the couple said they believe was after the elk, barreled into the waterside dock before scrambling back into the woods.

NYC subway rat leaves woman rattled

NEW YORK, June 12 (UPI) -- A New York woman said she has been unable to ride the subway since a rat climbed up her leg inside her pants.

Ana Vargas, 40, said she was riding the train between 125th Street and Columbia Circle around 8 a.m. Thursday when the rat crawled up her leg and she had to take off her pants to get rid of it, the New York Post reported Tuesday.

"I'm still nervous about it," Vargas said. "I had to take pills to get to sleep last night because of what happened.

"I don't know what I'm going to do to get to work, but I don't want to get on the train," she said.

Massachusetts town passes swearing fine

MIDDLEBORO, Mass., June 12 (UPI) -- A Massachusetts town passed a $20 fine for swearing in public, but the police chief said officers do not have a list of words to work from.

Middleboro Police Chief Bruce Gates told the 297 residents attending the Monday night meeting, which also passed fines for smoking marijuana in public and shoveling snow into the street, that he does not have a list of swear words for officers to use in giving out the $20 citations, The Enterprise, Brockton, Mass., reported Tuesday.

Gates said it would be up to the individual officers to use their discretion.

"I don't see an issue, we have a lot of things to do. This is not a priority," he said.

The swearing fine was approved by a 183-50 vote.
