7-foot python captured in Maryland

TOWSON, Md., June 11 (UPI) -- Police in Maryland said a python estimated to measure 7 feet was removed from a city roadway.

Towson police said a resident called 911 after 9:30 p.m. Sunday and reported seeing the python on the road, The Baltimore Sun reported Monday.

Officers arrived and found the snake in a nearby bush. It was captured by city Animal Control officers, police said.

Investigators said they do not know from where the snake came.
