SPRING CREEK, Nev., June 10 (UPI) -- The 2012 graduating class at Spring Creek High School in Nevada received diplomas with the word graduation misspelled as "graduataion," officials said.

Corrected diplomas have already been sent out to the 203 students who received the ones with the misspelling, Elko (Nev.) Daily Free Press reported Friday.

High School Principal Keith Walz said the diplomas were spell checked when they arrived from Jostens.

"It was an inadvertent mistake," Walz said. "On our end, we check the kids' names and the names of school personnel."

Jostens, which has its headquarters in Minneapolis, took full responsibility for the blunder and sent out the replacement diplomas free of charge.

"It was a Jostens mistake, period," said Bryan Durfey, Jostens' representative for the Elko County School District. "Our policy regarding errors is we fix it immediately."
