Tinkerbell teen told to change at Disney

ORLANDO, Fla., June 5 (UPI) -- A 15-year-old visitor to Florida's Walt Disney World said she was forced to change out of her Tinkerbell costume because it was too authentic.

April Spielman said she dressed as the "Peter Pan" character for her Sunday trip to the theme park to help make it memorable for her boyfriend, who had never been to Disney before, and she had no problems at the Hollywood Studios portion of the park, WKMG-TV, Orlando, Fla., reported Tuesday.

However, Spielman said she was stopped by security when she tried to enter the park's Animal Kingdom section.

"They said I looked too good," Spielman said. She said the security workers told her she closely resembled the costumed Tinkerbell character who poses for pictures with visitors and signs autographs.

"It just broke my heart," the teenager said. "I didn't want to take off the costume."

"They were talking how the little girls, it ruins their dreams," she said. "But it ruined my dreams because I just want to be Tinkerbell."

The theme park provided Spielman with a free T-shirt to change into and gave FastPass tickets to the teenager and her family to allow them to skip lines on rides they missed while the girl was changing clothes.
