WICHITA, Kan., May 29 (UPI) -- The family of a 13-year-old Kansas boy who found a picture of a long-dead uncle inside a camera he bought at a garage sale said it may be a sign from beyond.

Addison Logan said he bought an old Polaroid camera for $1 while he was at a Wichita garage sale with his grandmother, Lois Logan, Thursday. When they got home he removed the camera's cartridge and opened it up to discover a picture of a man his grandmother identified as her son, Scott, who died 23 years ago in a traffic accident, The Wichita Eagle reported Tuesday.

Lois Logan said the picture, which depicted Scott with his high school girlfriend, appears to have been taken in 1978 or 1979.

The family said the man they purchased the camera from told them he goes to a lot of garage sales and couldn't remember where he bought the item.

"It's almost like he's reaching out to us, saying he's still with us," said Blake Logan, Addison's father.

Jeff Logan, Blake and Scott's brother, agreed that finding the photo could be a message from beyond the grave.

"When you get something like that, that's almost like a sign telling us, 'Hey, everything's all right, I'm still here,'" Jeff Logan said.
