MARION, Texas, May 15 (UPI) -- Texas firefighters said they received a call about hundreds of bees swarming in a house while they were already out on an identical call.

The Marion Fire Department said it received two calls about the insects invading separate homes Monday afternoon, KSAT-TV, San Antonio, reported Tuesday.

"Same call twice in one day is kind of unusual," Assistant Fire Chief Joseph Rodriguez said. "I think this is the fourth or fifth call we've had for bees this year already. It gets hot and dry and then it rains. That's what brings them back out."

Jason Williams said he was getting ready to watch a movie Monday with his wife, Jennifer, when they noticed a few bees in the bedroom and looked to find hundreds of the insects swarming. He said the couple hid in a back bathroom and fled the house after dousing some of the bees in a mixture of soap and water.

"There was a lot of bees, man. That's all I saw was bees everywhere," Williams said. "It was enough to scare a big guy like me."
