INDIANAPOLIS, May 1 (UPI) -- A peregrine falcon couple nesting in downtown Indianapolis hatched their second egg in two days this week, observers said.

KathyQ and her mate, Kinney, have been nesting atop the Market Tower across from the Monument Circle for several years and together have hatched dozens of baby falcons. Kinney, 19, is close to setting a record for fathering more than 60 falcons, while KathyQ, 14, has laid about 50 eggs in her lifetime, The Indianapolis Star reported Tuesday.

John Castrale, a biologist with the Department of Natural Resources, said he was concerned the aging couple's three eggs wouldn't hatch because they incubated about a day and a half longer than normal.
