Prison bus involved in highway crash

CHICAGO, April 27 (UPI) -- Illinois State Police said there were minor injuries but no reports of escapes when a prison bus was involved in a crash Friday on Interstate 55.

Police said traffic was slowed after the bus was involved in a crash on Interstate 55 near the Pulaski Road exit, WBBM-AM, Chicago, reported Friday.

The crash resulted in minor injuries to a sheriff's officer and a prisoner, police told the Chicago Sun-Times.

The newspaper reported that the bus in the accident was part of a convoy taking prisoners to Stateville Correctional Center in Crest Hill, Ill.
