AMHERST, N.H., April 24 (UPI) -- A New Hampshire man who photographed a trio of bears in his back yard said they were likely after the remnants of his demolished bird and suet feeders.

Bill Swift of Amherst, N.H., said he believes the feeders were destroyed by the same bears the previous week and they seemed surprised to discover there was nothing left for them to raid in his yard during their visit Friday, The Telegraph, a Nashua, N.H., newspaper, reported Tuesday.

Swift said the bears also popped by last year when he "made the mistake of sprinkling cracked corn around the yard for the wild turkeys."

"This week they went home empty-handed but it was still an enjoyable family outing," Swift joked about Friday's visit.
