Subscribe | UPI Odd Newsletter Subscribe HESPERIA, Calif., April 17 (UPI) -- A California man was arrested for insurance fraud when the security system in a vehicle he reported stolen led police to where he allegedly hid the car. Ricardo Felix, 31, is accused of concealing the vehicle behind a family member's home, and then reporting it stolen to Huntington police and his insurance company, the Daily Press of Victorville, Calif., reported Monday. Advertisement Victor Valley police said Saturday they received a LoJack notification of the location of the vehicle and tracked it to the home in Hesperia. Authorities detained four people in the home and notified Felix about the discovery of the vehicle. Investigators later learned Felix allegedly conspired with the family members to hide the vehicle, not knowing it was equipped with the LoJack system, Hesperia police spokeswoman Sue Rose told the Daily Press. Felix was being held on $25,000 bail for alleged insurance fraud and grand theft auto. Prosecutors office were considering filing charges against the alleged conspirators, the newspaper said.
