TIVERTON, England, April 4 (UPI) -- A British man who bought a handful of sketches at a Las Vegas rummage sale for $4.76 said one of them turned out to be an Andy Warhol worth $2.06 million.

Andy Fields of Tiverton, England, said he bought a few pieces of art from the sale in 2010 and later learned one of the pieces was an original sketch believed to have been made by Warhol in the 1930s when he was 10 or 11 years old, The Sun reported Wednesday.

Fields said experts examined the sketch, which depicts 1930s singer and actor Rudy Vallee, and said it is the earliest known example of Warhol's pop art style. The sketch has been valued at $2.06 million.

Fields said he tried unsuccessfully to track down the man who sold him the art work.

"I needed to find out everything he knew about it -- but he'd vanished," Fields said.
