The Grace Foundation, which took in the mother while she was pregnant with five puppies, said the litter was born two weeks ago and the runt, named Beyonce, was only slightly larger than a business card at birth and did not start breathing until cardiopulmonary resuscitation was administered, the World Records Academy reported.
The record-keeping organization said Beyonce, a Dachshund mix, weighed only 4 ounces and remained smaller than an iPhone after two weeks of life, making her the record holder for the world's smallest puppy.
The Grace Foundation said Beyonce and her siblings will go up for adoption sometime after May 3.
