ATLANTIC CITY, N.J., March 19 (UPI) -- Someone stole an ambulance from outside a hospital in Atlantic City, N.J., and drove it to a bar about 40 miles away, police said.

Atlantic City police Detective Edward Riege said the ambulance was stolen early Sunday from the emergency room entrance at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center. Investigators used a Global Positioning System tracker to follow the stolen vehicle, the Press of Atlantic City reported Monday.

Riege said the man stopped at Larry's Bar in Millville, more than 40 miles from the hospital, before abandoning the ambulance nearby.

The ambulance was back at the hospital by 11 a.m. Sunday.

He said investigators are working to identify the suspect.
