NEW YORK, March 18 (UPI) -- Police say a pair of rabbit rustlers seemed to have had a change of heart and returned the mascot of a New York City boutique.

Miss Cooper was back in her home in the front window of Alexander Berardi in SoHo Sunday after being dropped off at the local precinct station early Saturday.

Miss Cooper had been spirited away from the store by a man and woman dressed in leather jackets and cowboy hats.

The New York Daily News said Miss Cooper and her window-mate Jack -- as in jack rabbit -- had become a fixture on Prince Street, especially for local kids who made a point of looking in the window.
