Seahorse Cheeto sells for $100

March 16, 2012 at 5:35 PM   |   Comments

PAINTER, Va., March 16 (UPI) -- A Virginia couple who found a seahorse-shaped Cheeto in the Florida Keys said the item sold for $100 on eBay to benefit an environmental group.

Richard Schmidt of Painter put the unusually shaped snack up for sale on eBay after his wife found it in a bag of Cheetos while visiting the Florida Keys.

The couple hoped the sale would raise a few thousand dollars for environmental group Reef Relief, but the item had a high bid of $100 when the auction ended Thursday, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported Friday.
