SOUTHWEST RANCHES, Fla., March 14 (UPI) -- A Florida high school is celebrating Wednesday's Pi Day with an after-school event involving a pie-eating contest and the chance to "pie" a teacher.

Administrators at Archbishop McCarthy High School in Southwest Ranches said the event March 14 -- which can be expressed as 3.14, the first three digits of pi -- will include a pie-eating contest and the chance to "pie" a teacher's face for a $1 donation, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported Wednesday.

The proceeds will benefit the school's freshman class, officials said.

Pi is the mathematical term for the irrational number used to calculate the area of a circle.
