Nathan Adams, 42, said he caught the gargantuan fish while angling near Houhora, off the east coast of the country's North Island, during the 2012 New Zealand Sport Fishing Council National competition, Sky News reported Friday. Advertisement Adams said he believes his catch to be a world record for a tuna caught with a rod and reel, and he has submitted his feat to the International Game Fish Association for confirmation.
