Suit: Animal toe found in dip package

NEW YORK, March 1 (UPI) -- A New York man's lawsuit alleges there was an animal toe with its nail still attached in his package of artichoke spinach dip.

Andrew Brodsky, 35, filed a lawsuit in city Supreme Court alleging he discovered the animal toe in his food last September, the New York Daily News reported Thursday.

"He felt something very sharp on his tongue. He spit it out and found an animal digit with the nail still attached," said Michael Schlesinger, Brodsky's lawyer.

The type of animal was not identified by the lawsuit.

The lawsuit, which names manufacturer Sabra and distributor Fairway market, says Brodsky hasn't been able to eat or watch other people eat packaged foods since the incident.

A Sabra spokeswoman said the company uses "rigorous" quality control measures.
