The 72-year-old driver was near Mataranka, south of Darwin, when he hit the eagle. The eagle then struck the man in the head, the Australian Broadcasting Corp. reported Sunday Advertisement Officers say the man was treated for scratches. Wedge-tailed eagles can have a wing span of up to 8 feet.
