STARKE, Fla., Feb. 24 (UPI) -- The U.S. attorney's office said a Florida man caught videotaping customers who used his tanning bed pleaded guilty to child pornography charges.

Authorities said they began investigating Doyce Dean Griffis, 48, who ran a tanning bed in an outbuilding at his Starke, Fla., home for more than 10 years, after a pair of female customers told police they thought he was filming women using the tanning room, WTSP-TV, Tampa Bay, Fla., reported Friday.

Police said they discovered Griffis was using a two-way mirror and a hole in an air vent to videotape women as they undressed, entered and exited the tanning bed. Investigators said more than 20 underage girls were among the filmed customers and one of the videos depicted an underage couple having sex in the tanning room.

Griffis, who was arrested in April 2011, was also found to be in possession of downloaded videos and images of child pornography.

The U.S. attorney's office said Griffis pleaded guilty Thursday to five counts of producing videos of child pornography.

Griffis faces between 15 and 30 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine for each count.
