PORTLAND, Ore., Feb. 21 (UPI) -- Workers at three Oregon retirement communities said more than 100 seniors gathered in a store to sing "America the Beautiful" and "God Bless America."

Margaret Norman of Beaverton Lodge Retirement said seniors from her community and two others gathered Monday at the Fred Meyer store on Beaverton Hillsdale Highway in Portland to celebrate their patriotism for Presidents' Day, KPTV, Portland, reported Tuesday.

"Our residents are so patriotic. We have many people who live with us who are almost 100 years old that have been in the wars and this meant a lot," Norman said.
