OLATHE, Kan., Feb. 15 (UPI) -- A Kansas kindergarten student who refused to color a Kansas University Jayhawk in class was given free tickets to the Kansas State Wildcats game.
Julie Burton of Olathe said her daughter, Emma, became a minor celebrity in Kansas when she refused to color the Kansas University picture and told her teacher she prefers the Kansas State University Wildcats, KYTV, Springfield, Mo., reported Wednesday.
Burton said the media attention received by Emma, who was eventually convinced to color the picture, led to her being invited to attend Monday night's basketball game between the Jayhawks and the Wildcats and meet Kansas State Head Coach Frank Martin.
However, she may have left disappointed, as the Jayhawks defeated the Wildcats 59-53.
