BREMERTON, Wash., Jan. 31 (UPI) -- Washington state authorities said a drunken sailor who entered the wrong apartment and climbed into bed with an 80-year-old is unlikely to face charges.
The Kitsap County Sheriff's Office said Dalton Pierson, 21, left a friend's Bremerton apartment early Sunday after consuming alcohol and when he returned, he walked into the wrong apartment and was seen urinating on the floor by John Jaeger, 56, The Seattle Times reported Tuesday.
Jaeger told deputies he heard his mother cry out as he dialed 911.
Evelyn Whitney said she was awakened by Pierson climbing into bed with her.
Deputies said they arrived and awoke Pierson to find he was "visibly intoxicated" and didn't realize he was in the wrong apartment.
Pierson, who is stationed at Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor, was released to his friends. Deputies said Whitney's apartment is nearly identical in layout to that of Pierson's friend and the door had been left unlocked.
Whitney said Pierson's supervising officer "made him sit down and listen while I scolded him.
"After that, I felt much better."
