DELTONA, Fla., Jan. 31 (UPI) -- Police in Florida said a man who was forced to ride the bus to work when his girlfriend's car was stolen spotted the vehicle during his commute.
Volusia County sheriff's spokesman Gary Davidson said the black 2002 Saturn was taken from Cara McSweeney's Deltona driveway around 10:15 a.m. Friday and her boyfriend called 911 from a city bus later to report he had spotted the car traveling westbound on Saxon Boulevard, The Orlando (Fla.) Sentinel reported Tuesday.
Deputies caught up to the vehicle and arrested the car's occupants, Aaron Hosack, 29, of Orange City, and Amber Jones, 20, of Osteen.
"Jones had two of the victim's bank cards on her, while Hosack was driving on a suspended license and also had several bank cards taken in another vehicle burglary in Deltona," Davidson said. He said Hosack denied stealing the car, but Jones "came clean."
"She told investigators that the two were breaking into vehicles in the Deltona area when Hosack came across the black Saturn, unlocked and with the keys inside," Davidson said.
