The Panama City Police report said the teenager called 911 around 4 a.m. Thursday and an officer arrived to find the mother and daughter involved in a "verbal altercation," The Smoking Gun reported Wednesday.
The teenager told the officer "there was no form of abuse or neglect in the house" but she wanted to go to a local Christian children's shelter "because she heard her mother having sex" and "felt disrespected."
The 35-year-old mother told the officer her boyfriend came over in the night and she "didn't intend to wake her daughter up" with her tryst.
The teenager eventually decided she did not want to leave home because "it was almost time for school."
No arrests were made during the incident.
