Police: Man rammed bar with car

SARASOTA, Fla., Jan. 18 (UPI) -- Authorities in Florida said they arrested a man who crashed his vehicle into a bar and attempted to run over the owner.

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to reports of shots fired at Stragglers Bar in Sarasota Monday evening and they arrived to find Sean Kilduff, 39, had crashed his car into the building, WFTS-TV, Tampa, reported Wednesday.

Deputies said the incident began when Kilduff was involved in a disturbance with the owner of the bar, James Wilbert. Kilduff allegedly went outside during the argument and rammed the building with his car. Wilbert responded by firing a gun at the vehicle and Kilduff allegedly tried to run over Wilbert and another person, deputies said.

Kilduff was arrested on charges of aggravated assault and criminal mischief. No injuries were reported.
