SEATTLE, Jan. 8 (UPI) -- A Vietnamese actress who sued an Amazon.com subsidiary in Seattle for publishing her age as 40 has emerged from the anonymity of Jane Doe as Huong Hoang.

Hoang, whose stage name is Junie Hoang in various B-roles, sued the Internet Movie Database, or IMDb, site last year for $1 million for publishing her real age, which she alleges portrays her as "over the hill" to casting agents, GeekWire reported.

The suit named her as Jane Doe, but a Seattle judge said the litigation couldn't continue anonymously.

The Saigon-born actress, who now lives in Texas, refiled the suit under her real name. She alleges IMDb used personal information from her credit card account to create her profile, which is used by the movie and TV industry.

Her suit says "youth is king" in the entertainment industry and revealing her age damaged casting opportunities because she "is many years older than she looks."

Lawyers from IMDb have have filed a motion to dismiss the suit with scathing criticism.

"Plaintiff's attempt to manipulate the federal court system so she can censor IMDb.com's display of her birth date and pretend to the world that she is not 40 years old is selfish, contrary to the public interest and a frivolous abuse of this court's resources."
