HOUSTON, Jan. 4 (UPI) -- A Texas man said he was overjoyed to find the rightful owner of a bag of gifts and cash he found at the side of a road.
James Taylor of Houston said he found the bag at the side of the Northwest Freeway Dec. 22 and he posted signs, Craigslist notices and contacted Houston's KTRK-TV when he found it contained hundreds of dollars with of gifts, cards and cash, the TV station reported.
Taylor said he finally tracked the bag back to Shirley Baltz, 78, the day after Christmas.
"You are just something else. That is so great that you found these and were willing to give them back," Baltz told Taylor.
She said the bag had apparently been left unsecured on a relative's trailer and fell off while driving on the freeway.
"I'm so glad James was coming along," Baltz said.
Taylor said he was only trying to do the right thing, but Baltz insisted he accept a gift card as a thank-you for his honesty.
