Protesters portray Joseph, Mary as jobless

MADRID, Dec. 29 (UPI) -- The Spanish 15-M protest movement staged a different Nativity in Madrid in which a jobless Joseph and Mary were evicted because they couldn't pay the mortgage.

Police broke up the staging Wednesday and arrested two people, ThinkSpain reported. During the confrontation between protesters and police, five people -- including two police officers -- suffered minor injuries.

The 15-M movement includes organizations advocating education for all, resident associations and an end to unfair evictions of mortgage defaulters.

Witnesses said most of the ensemble were dressed as traditional Nativity characters, bricks representing a house that would be evicted and ghosts chanting, "que pasa, que pasa, no tenemos casa" ("what's the matter, what's the matter, we don't have a home").
