IMMOKALEE, Fla., Nov. 30 (UPI) -- Collier County, Fla., police say a man attempted to sell jewelry to a store manager whose home he allegedly had just burglarized.

As the manager looked at the jewelry, she recognized the items as her own, police said.

The woman, whose name was not reported, asked Coleman to excuse her for a moment while she went to the back of the store to call her husband to come to the store, a police report said.

The police report said deputies and the woman's husband arrived at the store at about the same time. Officers then transported the woman and Coleman to the Immokalee police station for further questioning.

Meanwhile, the woman's husband and deputies went to the victim's home where they discovered the back door forced open and the house ransacked, the report said.

Coleman was arrested and now faces charges of grand theft, dealing in stolen property and defrauding a pawnbroker.
