VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Nov. 29 (UPI) -- A knock-down brawl between two 73-year-old Canadian Football League veterans at a luncheon is rivaling talk about the 99th Grey Cup game they were promoting.

In the run-up to Sunday's national championship between the host British Columbia Lions in Vancouver and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, the CFL held a luncheon for past players.

They included the strapping former Hamilton Tiger-Cars defensive linesman and professional wrestler Angelo Mosca and former Lions and Minnesota Vikings quarterback Joe Kapp.

The two have maintained a simmering grudge since the 1963 Grey Cup over two hits Mosca made.

Kapp grabbed some flowers from the head table and walked over to Mosca at the head table and repeatedly wagged them in his face. Mosca made a profanity-laced demand for Kapp to stop and then swung his wooden cane, hitting Kane on the head with a loud cracking sound.

Kapp then punched Mosca in the face, knocking him backward from his chair, the Vancouver Sun reported.

Both men were born a month apart in 1938 and neither has sought out the media since the brawl.
