VERO BEACH, Fla., Nov. 17 (UPI) -- A Florida man was arrested after allegedly refusing to pay for a $7 order of chicken fingers because "they sucked," police said.

Vero Beach officers said Eugene Clyde Damboise obtained the chicken fingers from the deli at a Publix supermarket and ate the food while walking around the store, TCPalm.com reported Thursday.

Damboise purchased a deli sandwich and was about to leave the store when a manager asked if he planned to pay for the chicken fingers.

"No, they sucked," the suspect allegedly responded.

Damboise then allegedly fled the store, but was soon caught by officers. He was jailed on charges including retail theft and resisting detention by a merchant.
