Cat escapes cactus

Nov. 13, 2011 at 3:55 PM

SAGUARO LAKE, Ariz., Nov. 13 (UPI) -- A cat descended a 30- to 40-foot Saguaro cactus in Arizona after being stuck on top of it for three days.

The cat, black with white markings, apparently became stuck on top of the cactus in a desert area near Saguaro Lake, KNVX-TV, Phoenix, reported Friday.

A witness said he first saw the cat there three days before it came down.

Slowly but surely, the cat started to climb down Friday, starting face-first before turning around and backing its way down. Near the bottom, it leaped off the cactus, making a safe landing.

The feline was seen wandering in the area after news crews left the scene.
