PALM BEACH, Fla., Nov. 3 (UPI) -- A Florida cookbook author is recommending men turn to his tome for help with Thursday's National Men Make Dinner Day.

Dave Valletta, who penned the "To Romance With Love" cookbook, said the book is perfect for the inexperienced male because the recipes include shopping lists, table diagrams and other helpful pictures, the Palm Beach (Fla.) Post reported Thursday.

The holiday was invented by radio host Sandy Sharkey of 93.9 BOB-FM in Ottawa, Ontario. The host has a Web site, menmakedinnerday.com, designed to assist with preparations.

The Web site says the holiday is designed for men who don't mind helping around the house "but never learned how to cook and (are) somewhat afraid of the idea."
