LAWRENCE, Mass., Nov. 1 (UPI) -- A food company said its survey of U.S. adults suggests peanut butter and jelly is the preferred "All-American" sandwich.

Glutino, a Quebec company that conducted the survey to coincide with the release of its new Genius brand gluten-free bread, said the telephone survey of 1,006 adults Oct. 13-16 found 30 percent of respondents named peanut butter and jelly the "All-American" sandwich, compared to 17 percent for the BLT, 12 percent supporting grilled cheese and 9 percent backing the club sandwich.

The survey found 51 percent of those polled consider sandwiches to be the "classic lunchtime meal," vastly preferred over salad and soup, which were each cited by 17 percent of respondents.
