Group: Give religious tracts for Halloween

GARLAND, Texas, Oct. 31 (UPI) -- The American Tract Society based in Garland, Texas, called on homeowners to use Halloween as an opportunity to teach children about Jesus.

The ATS said Christian homeowners can use the holiday to promote their religion among trick-or-treaters by slipping tracts, including "Peek-A-Boo: Jesus Loves You," which warns youngsters that "the Bible says the wages of Sin is death," in with their candy, USA Today reported Monday.

"By choosing to evangelize on Halloween, Christians can shine the true light on what is possibly one of the darkest nights of the year," the group said on its "Light Up The Night" Web site.

The ATS said giving the tracts to children can also help them reach adults.

"Many parents read tracts that are given to their children. A surprising number of the responses ATS receives from Halloween tracts come from adults! When you give a tract, only the Lord knows in whose hands it will end up," the group said.
