ROME, Oct. 6 (UPI) -- Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi raised the ire of opposition politicians by jokingly dubbing his new party "Come on Hot Chicks."

Berlusconi said he is planning to change the name of his party, People of Freedom, because the name "isn't in people's hearts," ANSA reported Wednesday.

"We're open to suggestions, we'll put out some polls," the prime minister said. "I'm told the biggest hit would be Forza Gnocca," which loosely translates to "Come on Hot Chicks."

Gnocca, a term for an attractive woman, is also considered a vulgar term for the female genitalia.

The joke by Berlusconi, whose many sex scandals include allegations of sex with an underage prostitute, raised the ire of some opposition politicians.

ANSA quoted opposition leaders as accusing the premier of "insulting Italian women" and "indulging in childish pranks while the country is in crisis."
