PARIS, Oct. 1 (UPI) -- Paris officials preparing for the annual Nuit Blanche, the Sleepless Night, said 30 artists will be showing their work at various locations around the city.
Mayor Bertrand Delanoe said the 10th annual Nuit Blanche, which begins Saturday evening and ends Sunday morning, will include 30 artists with various exhibits in venues spread throughout the city, thelocal.fr reported Friday.
"For its 10th anniversary, Nuit Blanche is not slowing down but rather inventing and reinventing itself," Delanoe said. The event will "bring together artists at work and an ever increasing audience of Parisians, lovers of Paris and visitors."
French artist Pierre Ardouvin said his exhibit, "Purple Rain," was inspired by the 1984 Prince song and the film of the same name. He said visitors will walk through the courtyard of the Hotel d'Albret with umbrellas while music plays and purple liquid rains down on them.
