MAMARONECK, N.Y., Sept. 20 (UPI) -- U.S. publisher Archie Comics says a new series starring its wholesome fictional American teen Archie will feature the real and risque rock band KISS.
The comic book company, based in Mamaroneck, N.Y., said Gene Simmons and his band mates, who regularly feature cartoonish costumes and makeup, will appear alongside the Riverdale crew in "Archie Meets KISS," which is due to hit shelves this fall, the New York Post reported.
"KISS is all things to all people," Simmons, who at 62 is younger than Archie Andrews, who has been around for 70 years, told the Post when speaking of the iconic comic book's audience. "A 5- or 10-year-old fan doesn't look at the lascivious nature of my tongue the same way someone much older would -- such a thing is not obvious to a 5-year-old, and nor should it be."
