NEW YORK, Aug. 28 (UPI) -- A New York City art gallery is suing a neighbor for, among other things, allegedly throwing feces on its property in an ongoing property line dispute.

The alleged feces thrower, sculptor Charles Saulson, 59, who owns a six-story condo next door to the Sperone Westwater Gallery in Manhattan, claims the eight-story art space built two years ago intrudes 4.8 inches on his property, the New York Post reported Sunday

The lawsuit indicates the gallery calculated the trajectory of the feces to implicate Saulson.

"The fact that the final resting place of that object was south of its point of impact made clear that it had been thrown from the north, that is, 259 Bowery," the gallery alleges in a Manhattan Supreme Court lawsuit. "At the time the fecal matter was discovered, the gallery was open to the public."

The lawsuit also claims Saulson damaged the building, which is covered in black aluminum to protect artwork inside, by pulling back some of the metal and sticking 2-by-4s in the gap created.

Sperone is seeking to have Saulson banned from so much as touching the building, saying he "has demonstrated a propensity of resorting to self-help, in unpredictable ways, which no money damages can prevent or alleviate."

"They're 4.8 inches on my property. There's a leak in the basement," Saulson said.
