"It could have been a lot worse," Washington State Patrol Trooper Guy Gill said.

He said the woman, driving a 2000 Ford Taurus, became irritated when the driver in a 1997 Subaru Outback, also unidentified, did not yield to her.

"She got very agitated and she flipped the bird at the other driver," he said. "When she did that, she failed to maintain control of her vehicle and came into contact with the Subaru."

Both vehicles went off the road and both drivers a passenger woman were taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The driver of the Taurus could face criminal charges of reckless driving for causing an accident.
