VERO BEACH, Fla., Aug. 20 (UPI) -- Police in Florida arrested an accused bigamist who was already married when he wed for the second time but said he didn't remember marrying his first wife.

The Indian River County Sheriff's Office said it opened an investigation into Vero Beach resident Aaron Richardson's marital status after a judge presiding over a domestic hearing injunction discovered he had a marriage license with Arkina Sneed from last year -- as well as one with Irene Clark from 2004 -- WPBF-TV, West Palm Beach, Fla., reported Friday.

Sneed told detectives she did not know Richardson was still married to Clark when she married him in October 2010.

Richardson said he was being treated for a health issue and taking medication when he was dating Clark and he does not remember marrying her.

Richardson was arrested Tuesday on a bigamy charge.
