MINNEAPOLIS, July 29 (UPI) -- Authorities said a Minneapolis couple accused in a months-long string of vehicle break-ins were arrested less than 6 hours after targeting an FBI agent's truck.

Police said Tania Thompson, 34, and Milton Rucker, 38, are believed to be behind a string of vehicle break-ins in Minneapolis during the past five months and they were arrested less than 6 hours after allegedly taking a duffel bag containing a pistol, FBI credentials, badge and personal credit cards from a Ford Explorer parked along Franklin Avenue, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported Thursday.

Investigators said the agent discovered his items missing at about 4:40 p.m. Friday and immediately called his bank. He discovered one of his credit cards had been used at a Target store and a gas station, both of which had security camera footage of the woman using the card.

Police contacted the owner of a car the woman was seen using and were told Rucker had borrowed the vehicle.

The car was spotted in the parking lot of an apartment building, where both suspects were arrested.

Both suspects were charged with stealing government property, bank fraud and ID theft.

The agent's credentials and gun were recovered, but his badge remains missing, police said.
