ARLINGTON, Texas, July 22 (UPI) --
The owner of a Texas tree that became a tourist attraction after it was carved into an 18-foot-tall topless mermaid has put it up for sale on Craigslist.
Paul Jackson of Arlington wrote on the Web site the tree's roots are weakening and a buyer would be responsible for "slicing her off" and making arrangements for transport, The Washington Post reported Friday.
The tree was made into a sculpture in 2004 and has since become a popular landmark, earning a spot on RoadsideAmerica.com's list of offbeat tourist attractions.
