MILAN, Italy, July 14 (UPI) -- An Italian woman who took out a full-page newspaper ad to mourn the death of her beloved cat said her "profound feelings are beyond financial measure."

Luciana Matalon, 77, a Milan artist, said she took out the ad in Wednesday's edition of Corriere della Sera because of the connection she had with Sky, her recently deceased 15-year-old cat, ANSA reported Thursday.

"My profound feelings are beyond financial measure," Matalon said.

She said Sky helped her get past the pain of losing her husband several years ago.

"I don't even know how I continued to work after his death," she said. "Sometimes I would wake up in the morning and find an artwork completed that I didn't even remember doing."

Matalon said Sky filled her with "catitude," the cat version of attitude.

"I will soon be with you," the newspaper ad reads. "And we'll never leave each other ever again."
